Ongoing Mission: The "Fun4kids" project builds playgrounds for kids in the area of our orphanage and it only seems fair that the kids should have somewhere nice to play and develop their social skills. We are currently working alongside this charityto develop a play area for the children (July 2008)

Update

In January of this year (2008) we revisited the orphanage and fulfilled our mission beyond our wildest dreams!

January 2008 saw us return to our beloved "Ban Nam Tham Chai" orphanage in Khao Lak, Thailand.

After 12 months of fundraising we were able to achieve more than our wildest dreams as not only with your help have we purhased the land for the orphanage but we have also been able to provide the funding for an outbuilding and enable a nearby watermains supply to be extended onto the land as well.

The land we have purchased has been layered with a covering of imported topsoil as the original soil was rendered useless by the tsunami backwash. It has a large wall to the left boundary and untended land to the right boundary both of which extend to a cluster of trees to the rear of the land. The area is much bigger than we ever expected and although it is the dry season at the moment the children already have their own plots and have started growing shrubs and seedlings in pots ready for the water supply being connected.

The children are divided into groups and each have their own garden to care for, this will teach them useful crop skills.

During our visit the children helped us plant mango trees.
