Who are we? ....We are a committee of three ordinary working class people who feel privileged to live in a country that is both environmentally and financially pretty stable (UK). However we realise that just beyond our comfort zone there is a very large world out there which unlike our country has very few charity organisations and very little support. As such we would like to displace a little of our good fortune by helping those who are unable to help themselves. At this point its small steps, but every little helps!

What is our goal?....Our goal is initially a financial one, to raise funds. When enough funds are raised we will focus this money where it is needed to make a difference on the ground. The money will be used to purchase a plot of land at the back of the Baan Tharn Namchai childrens orphanage in Khao Lak so that they can become self sustained by growing their own crops, this is both educational and financially beneficial.

How much money is needed?....Subject to deeds being drawn up and finalised the approximate amount of money needed to buy the land is 42,900 Baht which is around £6000.00 (UK Sterling)

How will the money be raised?....We hope to raise the money in several ways, initially we will be holding benefit concerts to raise money through sponsorship but are also looking towards direct contributions and merchandising as well as recycling PC's..

How can I help?.....The best way to help is financially but we are also looking for sponsorship, donations, help with fundraising events and merchandising. If you can help us achieve our goal in any way please do not hesitate to email us using the link from the menu on the left.

Radio Sheffield

In our interview on Radio Sheffield (Wed 30th January) with Phil Butler we discussed an image we had taken into the studio and described it to the listeners. The image was described as being very powerful and moving. For anyone wishing to see the image it is displayed to the right.

After the tsunami the children at the orphanage in Khao Lak were visited by Buddhist Monks. The job of the monks was to tell the children about their families. The girl in the picture has just been told news of her Mother and Father
